FUNDBÜRO: 53rd St. IND NYC Subway Station handmade signage

Thanks to So Much Pile Up Blog i can present here the few pictures of creating process of this amazing handmade signage.
According to the Blog, "in 1977, graphic designer Robert Propper of Propper/Elman Design/Planning (...) was approached by the Public Arts Council of the NYC to redesign subway stations, transforming them from drab underground waiting rooms into vibrant public art spaces. Over the course of two weeks, Propper, aided by a small group of Pratt students and armed with paint, brushes, and masking tape, turned the 53rd St. IND Station into a colorful wonderland."
I am gojng to think about a 'masking tape and paint project' of my own. I kind of forgot how much i used to enjoy using stancils and paint.

Type Player is coming out!

The book 'Type Player' to which I contribute my type works ('Merry Christmas' and '2009 Oh Yeah!' cards) is coming out.

'Type Player collects the world¡'s latest and creative typographic design and their applications. This book is expected to be an indispensable resource to any designer who looks forward to original and high-quality work.' ------ I feel honoured to be a part of this great publication.

Introducing: Daily Type

Long time ago I came across a website full of creative type inspirations. Plenty hand lettering, sketches and typefaces can be found on Daily Type

"Daily Type is a creative project run by several Russian type designers. Day by day, they create original typefaces and post their results along with routine."
